Join the Strip Club ✨

No, we're not talking about that kind of strip club ...😉

We're talking about the hand stripping kind- where coat comes off, but the dignity stays firmly intact!

Handstripping is a specialist grooming technique where the old, dead coat is carefully removed by hand or stripping tool, allowing the new coat to grow through beautifully

Think of it as a hair renewal programme- out with the old, in with the fabulous✨

Why strip?

🤚Helps maintain the correct harsh coat texture and colour

✨Encourages healthy new coat growth

🐶Keeps that natural breed specific look

💇‍♀️Gives a neat, tidy finish without clipping everything off

❤️Carefully tailored grooming experience for your dog

Some coats are made to be stripped! Handstripping removes old, dead coat making way for new fresh growth while helping to preserve that lovely harsh, natural texture

It's a slower and more skilled grooming technique than clipping, but the results are worth it! Your dog gets to keep their natural shape and character, while their coat stays looking healthy, tidy and totally fabulous

So, if your four-legged friend has a wire coat and is ready for a little off the top... they might just be our next VIP at the Strip Club✂️🐾

FAQs

Does Handstripping hurt?

Nope- not when the coat is ready and it's done properly! Handstripping removes the loose, dead hair rather than pulling it out when it's still growing. We work with the coat, not against it- so your pup can enjoy their little spa session without the drama 💅

Can you clip a handstripped coat instead?

Technically, yes... but should you? This is where we get a little passionate 😂

Clipping a wire coat can soften the texture and alter the colour over time. This is something we are happy to do but must come with a warning... If you do go for the clip, the coat will likely never be able to be handstripped again 😱

So if you've got a gorgeous wiry coat and want to keep it looking and feeling natural, stay in the strip club✂️✨

What type of dogs can join the Strip Club?

If your dog is rocking a wire coat, there's a good chance they're on the guest list 🪩 However some silk coats can join the party too! Every dog is different, so we will check their coat first and make sure they are the right fit for our exclusive little club 🐾

Reviews

"We love sending our dogs Gracie and Badger to Goose and Lettuce Dog Grooming.
Because our dogs are rough coated Parson Terriers they need their coats hand stripped, not something that anybody can just do but Danielle And Josh
do an amazing job, they take their time and are incredibly kind.
When I arrive and let Gracie and Badger out of the car they both dash up the stairs looking forward to their grooming session, they don’t look back, think that says it all really.  Gracie and Badger tend to be nervous about being groomed but because Danielle and Josh are kind and love dogs so much it’s not a problem.
Thank you very much the pair of you for looking after our dogs so very very well, the fact that you love what you is very obvious."
